Diagnosis

Hip dysplasia. Massive cartilage delamination, partial tear of the ligamentum teres, and hip instability.
Example of the usefulness of hip MR arthrography with axial traction. Moderate undercoverage and hypertrophic labrum. Degenerative labral tear, massive chondral delamination (giant pouch), and partial high-grade tear of the ligamentum teres (>50%). Secondary hip instability with marked articular distraction on MR arthrography with leg traction (8 Kg). Arthroscopic procedure confirms MR arthrographic findings.
